The Reader uses a TDM/Slotted Aloha protocol to perform two-way communication with Transponders that are passing through its communication zone at speeds of up to 125 Mph (200 Kph). The unit serves in free flow, electronic toll collection systems, border crossing, access control, Weigh In Motion (WIM) stations, electronic seal systems and other applications such as vehicle related services such as parking and Gas station payments.
Air Interface
The air interface is based on ASTM V6 protocol. The FP300 shall perform the following tasks:
• Send frame control messages according to open road or lane based timing
• Receives activation messages from Transponders.
• Reports of new Transponders that entered the communication zone
• Allocates protocol data transfer resources according to the requests.
• Sends and receives data to and from Transponders and report the results to the requesting entity
• Support authentication / Drivers ID
